Hot-Air Balloon Trips

How to get the best and magnificent sights of the plains is through the hot air ballooning trips over the plains of Masai Mara. Balloon flights features highly especially during the wildebeest migration and in addition, it is an adventure of its own kind. The escapade starts just before dawn with a hot African cup of coffee or tea while the crew gears up for take off.

Flames from the hot-air balloon burners competes with the first tongues of the magical golden streaks of sunlight to light the morning. The adventure is yet to begin.

Suspended beneath the canopy, the balloon ride is ready for take off, to an escape of a lifetime as the sunlight starts to show flickers across the skies. With absolute stillness and silence you float above the plains, the forests and the rivers of  Masai Mara. You have seen nothing like this before. The sounds below drift, and with a clear perspective you watch the wildlife beneath, undisturbed, as you float by.

For an hour or so you have no control over yourself and the game-viewing rules over you. Then ends with the time-honored tradition of balloon flights the world over. You toast your return to earth with a champagne breakfast, only it is in the African bush.

and additional information now.

Giraffe Center

A none-profit making organization founded by Betty and Jock Leslie-Melville in 1979. Also known as The African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya, it was established to save the endangered Rothschild Giraffe, which had lost its habitat in Western Kenya to agriculture and only 130 were left in the wild. It is the home of the movie   “The last Giraffe”. Today, through efforts and finances generated from tourism and individual help, the population has grown to 500.The center provides environmental education to the Kenyan youth and hosts up to a bout 50,000 school children a year. The center also supports other conservation projects all over Kenya and it is here that eco-tourism is at its deepest meaning. It is located within the outskirts of Nairobi and is very convenient to also do short walking trips into the indigenous forest, a remnant of the natural forests that once surrounded Nairobi.

Karen Blixen's Museum

The comfortable temperatures and plenty of rainfall gave rise to agriculture especially coffee, and this was the origin of the museum. It is the home of one of the pioneer coffee farmers, Karen Blixen.  Famously known as the home of "Out of Africa", it is now preserved as a museum .It is a step back in time and is one very interesting regional museum. Among the museums of Kenya it continues to be an immense tour destination as an archeological and prehistoric site. The insight into the remarkable woman's life is a phenomenon not to miss. You will stare and admire the views of Ngong Hills and the beautifully landscaped gardens of the museum.
