Day 1: Arrival and overnight in Nairobi.
Day 2: Departure for Samburu from Nairobi at 7.30 am. Short break on the way to Nanyuki town before proceeding to the beautiful rolling hills of this semi-arid country side. Lunch at Samburu *****. Afternoon rest, and there after enjoy an afternoon game ride from 16.00 pm till 18.00 pm.
Day 3: A beautiful day awaits you, starting with early breakfast. Soon after embark on you morning drive till 11.00 am. After 11.00am it is unbearably hot to be outside, and this would be good time spent by the pool. After lunch, another drive will follow at 15.30, ending at 18.00. Dinner at your hotel.
Day 4: Breakfast at the lodge. You will start your journey to Laikipia with last moment glances of the wildlife in samburu. Some of the wildlife here you will not see in any other places on the itinerary. You will get to Laikipia in time for lunch at Tandala lodge.
Day 5: Breakfast at your hotel. Depart the camp with picnic meals to visit the permaculture villages, where organic soaps are made. Visit the aloe vera farms to see how this natural, endangered plant of the Asphodelacea family of plants. Visit also the Twala Women Group and see how the local tradional women have joined hands to improve their way of life through self-help projects in the deep remote areas of Laikipia. Dinner at the lodge.
Day 6: Today you will visit a completely different zone located at the fresh water lake of Lake Baringo. Here you will enjoy a boat ride in the lake after lunch. Late afternoon at your leisure. Dinner at the your lodge.
Day 7: In the morning drive to Lake Bogoria for a day trip to view the millions of flamingos that have lately made this lake their home. Visit the geysers point and have picnic lunch at a designated spot by your driver guide. Late afternoon at leisure or enjoy a walk in the local village.
Day 8: From the hot water basins of Lake Baringo and lake Bogoria, you today head to the cooler Kakamega region. Kakamega is the home of the famous and only rain forest in Kenya. You will pass through the high altitude zones and home to many Kenyan marathon champions. Check in your hotel and rest for the day.
Day 9: Depending on how long you can manage to walk, you can do either a 3 hour walk or a 5 hour walk. Meals will be determined by what route everyone is comfortable with, then will be sloted accordingly. Either picnic by the waterfall or hot lunch at the hotel.
Day: 10: Once again it’s a day of travel, from Kakamega to Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is famous for its fresh water lake, Hells gate and Longonot National park. In addition, Naivasha has nice mild routes for lazy walks. But first check into your lake hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat ride to go watch the hippos, the African fish eagles and lots of other bird species you can view from the boat.
Day 11: There are two choices for this day: a walk or cycling in the Hell’s gate national park or climb Mt longonot. (The best option will be decided by the team together with the guide on the ground depending on the wishes of the group). Meals will depend on what route has been decided.
Day 12: It is time now to hit the road and finally visit the world famous masai mara national reserve. This will be a time to make a long list of all what you see. From the smallest creatures like termites, dung beetles, dik diks to the giants of Africa. This is one the best places in Africa to view the big lion prides. Lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon drive. Dinner at your lodge.
Day 13: Full day game drive with picnic lunch after breakfast at the camp. Drive till to the mara river, which is the main river in Masai mara that serves both Masai mara National reserve in Kenya and Serengeti National park in Tanzania. Your driver guide will find a quiet spot to have open air picnic lunch with great views of the savannah.
Day 14: today is another day that you have time to enjoy the wildlifes of Kenya. Enjoy breakfast at the camp, and leave for your drive in search for what you hadn’t managed to see or would love to see again. Chances are, you can never see enough of the wildlife. Return to camp for lunch. In the afternoon you can either do another drive or visit a masai village to learn a thing or two of the masai culture. (Alternatively, do another full day game drive with picnic lunch in the park). Dinner at the camp.
Day 15: Breakfast the camp or lodge and soon after depart for Nairobi. Depending on your flight schedule, you can either be taken direct to the airport or your overnight hotel in Nairobi.
