Samburu Safari

Full Itinerary

In addition to the big five, the harsh and arid plains of Samburu National Reserve is a home to certain species of game which are unique in Kenya to the northern parks; Beisa Oryx, the long- necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, blue-shanked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe.

Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi

You will be received and transferred to your overnight hotel, Nairobi Panafric. After check in, you will have a short city excursion and a visit to the giraffe center Where the children can feed the giraffes. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

Nairobi - Samburu

Breakfast will be served at the hotel, soon after depart for Samburu National Reserve. You will enjoy great views on the way, and meals will be served at the Samburu Sopa Lodge/equivalent. An evening game drive will follow, Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3

Samburu

Full day in the reserve while you search for the wildlife endemic in this reserve. There will be meal breaks, served at the lodge, ending the day with another late afternoon game drive. Overnight as Sopa Lodge.

Day 4

Samburu - Sweetwaters

Your stay in Samburu ends today and you leave for Sweetwaters game ranch, in Ol Pejeta. Your accommodation/meals will be in the exclusive Sweetwaters Tented Camp.

Day 5

Sweetwaters - Lake Nakuru

Proceed down the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will get there on time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill lodge. Afternoon game drive in the park will follow, ending in the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha

Today you will be a day of 'streching' abit and enjoy a walk to the Hells gate National Park. Then return to your lodge, Lake Naivasha Country Club for lunch. After lunch go down to the lake, and take a boat ride to the crescent Island, a short distance, to enjoy a gently walk among the wildlife. Dinner and overnight and Lake Naivasha Country Club.

Day 7

Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara

A drive along the rift valley will take you to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, home of the wildebeest migrating herds and astounding big cat numbers. You will get there in the late afternoon, and check into your lodge. Time allowing, you will catch the last moments of wildlife before dusk. Dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge/ equivalent.

Day 8

Masai Mara

Early Morning game drive and lunch at the Lodge. The children will have some time in the hotel pool, and as the sun goes down a bit, you will leave for the afternoon drive, that will end at 1830hours. Dinner and overnight at Simba Lodge.

Day 9

Masai Mara

You will take packed meals and venture further into the reserve towards mara river in search of the big hippo pools, giant crocodiles and off course the world famous crossing point for the wildebeests, among other wildlife that this park has in store for you. You will return to the lodge for a rest, probably a dip in the pool and the rest of the time free. Your energies permitting, venture out again in last moments of the day to try your luck with the cats that are active when the temperatures cooling.

Day 10

Masai Mara - Nairobi

Today you will not wake up early, and soon after breakfast, your safari back to Nairobi will start, arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon. Lunch will be served at Carnivore restaurant, then your transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
